Defense of former prosecutor is “an aerial defense, which has spent all these days repeating the same incidents that were presented to the investigating judge and were rejected”, Camacho indicated Santo Domingo.- Deputy Attorney Wilson Camacho stated this Monday that the defense of former Attorney General Jean Alain Rodríguez continues to bet on wasting the court’s time for fear of facing the evidence against him in the administrative corruption trial against him.

In response to questions from the press upon leaving the Second Collegiate Tribunal of the National District that is hearing the case, the head of the General Directorate of Prosecution of the Public Ministry deplored that the defenses of the former official continue to consume time, making the same arguments.

“The time this case consumes is because the defense is afraid of the evidence, starting with what it raises that the Public Ministry did not notify the accusation, for example, when the one who notifies the accusation is the court secretary and did so at the time”, he pointed out.

In that same order, he added: “What have we received today? What have we done today? And forgive my excessive frankness: wasting time”.

The Director of Prosecution emphasized “the only thing we have done today is waste time because Jean Alain Rodríguez’s defense, as an area defense, has spent all these days repeating the same incidents that were presented to the Instruction judge and that were rejected by the Instruction judge.”

“The last incident that Jean Alain Rodríguez brings up today is that the Pepca, that is, the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Prosecution of Corruption, could not investigate him,” said Camacho, insisting on the use of delaying tactics by the defense lawyers of the former prosecutor.

“Things like that are what they are bringing up in court, only with the interest of wasting time and fleeing the evidence, which is what Jean Alain has done throughout this whole process,” he emphasized.

The defense continues to present incidents during the trial against Jean Alain Rodríguez, which is taking place in the Second Collegiate Court of the National District, composed of judges Claribel Nivar, Yissell Soto, and Clara Castillo.

The court adjourned the hearing until next Wednesday, April 25th.
