Santo Domingo.- Deputy Prosecutor Wilson Camacho, Director General of Prosecution, assured that the Public Ministry is ready to begin the presentation of the indictment on Wednesday, August 12, in the administrative corruption trial being held against Jean Alain Rodríguez and associates at the Second Collegiate Court of the National District.
“The court finished receiving the arguments for the motion raised by the defense, which has been presented simply and plainly as a desperate cry and a way to try to flee from the reality of the process that is crushing them,” he said, reiterating that, sooner or later, Rodríguez Sánchez will have to answer to Justice and to society for his actions.
“I assure you that he will be besieged by the large amount of evidence that the Public Prosecutor’s Office has against him, which is what he wants to avoid happening, but, sooner or later, he will have to face the evidence,” emphasized Camacho when answering questions from judicial reporters who approached him as he left the court.
He said that the court has scheduled the decision on this incident for next Wednesday, August 12, “and we, once again, will come ready to begin with the presentation of the indictment for this process”.

In the previous hearing, held last Thursday, July 30, the Public Prosecutor’s Office presented a chronology of the entire judicial process that demonstrates the dilatory tactics used by the defense teams to delay the proceedings.

In the rejoinder to the request for the extinction of the criminal action, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, represented by Deputy Prosecutor Wilson Camacho and Court Prosecutor Mirna Ortiz, head of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Prosecution of Administrative Corruption (Pepca), requested that the court reject the groundless legal incident raised once again by the defense of former Prosecutor General Jean Alain Rodríguez Sánchez.
The prosecuting body indicated that the former official filed the motion with the purpose of having the justice system favor him with a declaration of extinction of criminal action and avoid him going to trial to answer for the acts of corruption of which he is accused.
In this hearing, the Public Prosecutor’s Office was also represented by prosecutors Enmanuel Ramírez, Melbin Romero, and Rosa Alba García.

Accusation against the network
The accusatory file states that Rodríguez Sánchez embezzled more than RD$6 billion through fraudulent processes between 2016 and 2020, the years in which he served as Attorney General of the Republic.
In addition to Rodríguez Sánchez, the file includes: Jhonatan Loander Medina Reyes, Alfredo Alexander Solano Augusto, Jhonatan Joel Rodríguez Imbert, Javier Alejandro Forteza Ibarra, Rafael Antonio Mercedes Marte, Miguel José Moya, and Braulio Michael Batista Barias.
Also, Alejandro Martín Rosa Llanes, Ramón Lucrecio Burgos, Isis Tapia, Félix Antonio Rosario Labrada, Francis Ramírez Moreno, Rolando Rafael Sebelén Torres, César Nicolás Rizik Pimentel, and José Luis Liriano Adames are being prosecuted.
Jean Alain Rodríguez Sánchez and the other defendants face corruption charges, including bribery, embezzlement, fraud against the State, and money laundering.
