José Ramírez reaches 300 stolen bases and makes history with Cleveland in MLB

Santo Domingo.- Dominican player José Ramírez reached 300 stolen bases in his career in the Major Leagues this Saturday, becoming only the second player in the history of the Cleveland franchise to achieve that mark.

The feat occurred during the Cleveland Guardians’ 14-6 victory over the Athletics, a game in which Ramírez stole third base after previously hitting a run-scoring double.

With this achievement, the third baseman joins Kenny Lofton as the only Cleveland players with at least 300 stolen bases in their career within the organization. Lofton leads the franchise’s historical list with 452 steals.

In addition, José Ramírez enters an exclusive group within Major League Baseball, becoming only the third third baseman of the Modern Era with 300 stolen bases, along with Chone Figgins and Hans Lobert.

Among active MLB players, the Dominican also now ranks among the few players with 300 or more stolen bases, sharing that list with figures like Starling Marte, José Altuve, and Trea Turner.

Ramírez is also getting closer to another historic record, as he needs only nine home runs to enter the exclusive club of players with 300 home runs and 300 stolen bases in the history of Major League Baseball.

The Dominican, considered one of the main stars of the Cleveland Guardians, continues to consolidate a career that for many analysts and teammates has a Hall of Fame profile.
