Journalist Luis Danilo Santamaría passes away

Monte Plata.– Journalist Luis Danilo Santamaría, a renowned communicator from the Monte Plata province, passed away this Saturday after battling a health condition for several years that deteriorated his physical state.

The information was confirmed by the general secretary of the Dominican College of Journalists (CDP), Monte Plata Section, Fausto H. Moreno, who indicated that the death occurred at the Dr. Ángel Contreras Provincial Hospital.

Throughout his professional career, Santamaría served as a correspondent for various national media outlets and collaborated with El Nuevo Diario, where he published opinion pieces. His work was marked by an adherence to ethics, careful writing, and his commitment to the responsible practice of journalism.

Through a statement, the CDP Monte Plata Section lamented his passing and expressed its solidarity with the communicator’s family. “The Dominican College of Journalists, Monte Plata Section, loses a great asset and, on behalf of the entire guild, we express our deepest condolences to the Santamaría-Santana family,” stated Fausto H. Moreno.
