SNTP expresses regret over the passing of journalist Luis Danilo Santa María

SANTO DOMINGO. The National Union of Press Workers (SNTP) expressed its sorrow over the passing of journalist Luis Danilo Santa María, which occurred early this Saturday, July 11, highlighting that with his departure, Monte Plata journalism loses one of its most dedicated exponents.

The general secretary of the SNTP, Manuel Ureña Ángeles, expressed the dismay caused by the news and conveyed the deep sorrow felt by the guild over the communicator’s passing.

He indicated that leaders of the SNTP branch in Monte Plata reported the passing of Santa María this Saturday morning.

According to the information provided, the journalist, who had been suffering from cancer for several years, passed away around 2:00 a.m. while receiving medical care at the Dr. Ángel Contreras Provincial Hospital in Monte Plata.

The SNTP extended its condolences to the family of Luis Danilo Santa María, as well as to the journalists and press workers of the Monte Plata province, where he was a distinguished member of both the Dominican College of Journalists (CDP) and the National Union of Press Workers (SNTP).

The organization reported that the details regarding the wake and funeral services for the prominent communicator will be announced throughout the day.

Luis Danilo Santa María developed an extensive professional career, working in important media outlets in the country and leaving a legacy of commitment to the practice of journalism.
