La Cuaba remains amidst trash due to improvised landfills

Santo Domingo.– The proliferation of improvised landfills in the La Cuaba municipal district continues to affect the environment and the health of its residents, while sectors of the community maintain their opposition to the installation of a recycling plant in the Los Aguacates area.

Community leader Eduardo More lamented that, despite the rejection of the project, different parts of La Cuaba remain full of trash due to the creation of makeshift landfills, a situation that, he stated, deteriorates areas of ecological value and favors the proliferation of rodents and other sources of contamination.

More maintained that leaders and spokespersons linked to opposition parties are allegedly using the debate over the recycling plant to generate controversy and chaos in the community, with the purpose of gaining political benefits and discrediting the project.
