Santiago.– The lender Elisaul Pérez Toribio, 38, was found hanged on Tuesday afternoon in a hotel room located on Valerio Avenue, in Santiago, in an incident whose circumstances are being investigated by the authorities.
The discovery occurred around 3:00 in the afternoon, after the man was found without vital signs.
According to the initial information provided by the Police, the body showed no visible signs of violence, so it will be the autopsy performed by the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) that will establish the exact cause of death.
José Rafael Pérez, brother of the deceased, explained that the family is still awaiting the forensic results and stated that, for the moment, they are not ruling out any hypothesis, including whether criminal hands were involved.
He indicated that investigators informed them that the hotel’s surveillance cameras do not show any suspicious individuals entering the room and that, preliminarily, the possibility that it was a personal decision by the deceased is being considered. However, he insisted that it will be the INACIF report that determines what happened.

The relative revealed that about three weeks ago Elisaul Pérez had been assaulted by three Haitian citizens during an incident in which he suffered the amputation of part of a finger, a situation that, he said, must also be taken into account within the investigations.
Likewise, he noted that his brother was going through financial difficulties, although he stated that they spent several minutes together last Friday and he never indicated that he was facing problems that would suggest an outcome like this.
The body of Elisaul Pérez Toribio was transferred to the INACIF in Santiago, while the Public Ministry and the National Police continue the investigations to clarify the circumstances of his death.
