Man who physically and verbally assaulted his partner sentenced to eight years in prison
Santo Domingo. – The Fourth Collegiate Tribunal of the National District sentenced José Enrique Castillo Bocio, known as “Kike”, to eight years in prison after being found guilty of physically and verbally assaulting his partner in an incident that occurred on February 24, 2026, in the Simón Bolívar sector.
The sentence was handed down at the request of the Public Ministry, which managed to demonstrate the criminal responsibility of the accused for violating the provisions of articles 309-1, 309-2 and 309-3, literal B, of the Dominican Penal Code, as amended by Law 24-97 on Gender and Intrafamily Violence.
During the trial, the litigating prosecutor Elaine Soto Kelly presented the evidence that supported the accusation and allowed to establish the guilt of the defendant before the court.
According to the investigation led by prosecutor Esther Sánchez, the incident occurred in the home shared by the victim and the aggressor. According to the record, Castillo Bocio started an argument with the woman and snatched several documents from her hands.
