FEDA has carried out, together with public institutions, some 437 operations throughout the country.
Santo Domingo- With the purpose of strengthening the Government’s presence, social cohesion, and the sense of belonging in the country’s rural and vulnerable communities, the Special Fund for Agricultural Development (FEDA), led by Hecmilio Galván, is steadily promoting the “FEDA in your Community” program, an inter-institutional territorial intervention strategy designed to bring the Government’s services, programs, and opportunities closer to the families who need them most in the countryside.
In the “FEDA in your Community” operations, in which some 105 thousand Dominicans have participated, institutions such as DASAC, CONAPE, Supérate, SENASA, Promipyme, the Ministry of Women, Infotep, Promese, and INAPA, among others, have a presence, bringing solutions from their perspectives to rural communities, such as conferences against gender-based violence, enrollment in social programs and solidarity pensions, printing of family health insurance cards, gift baskets, food rations, as well as water solutions, among others.
Currently, about 437 operations or workshops have been carried out in communities such as Guayajayuco, Aguas Negras, Copey, Mango el Limpio, Vengan a Ver, Elupina Cordero, Los Cocos, Juancho, La Otra Banda, El Chorro, Los Sánchez, Las Zanjas, etc., where institutions offer services and care to the participants.

During a presentation of the Program’s results for the 2022-2026 period, held in the Aproveche hall at the Ciudad Ganadera, the director of FEDA, Hecmilio Galván, highlighted that this program stems from President Luis Abinader’s vision that rural development is based on direct proximity, allowing for the identification of the needs of each area and the articulation of concrete responses together with public institutions, local authorities, and community actors.
To date, FEDA in your Community has achieved a remarkable national deployment with strong figures that reaffirm its effectiveness, in which 13,309 medical attentions have been provided through comprehensive health operations, 214,156 laying hens have been distributed to boost family poultry production; in addition, 56,533 food rations have been distributed by DASAC and some 5 thousand Christmas bonuses, as part of the complementary social assistance, a comprehensive and articulated response.
Also during the operations, 13,138 agricultural tools have been delivered to farmers, along with more than 10,060 fruit seedlings and over 50,000 seed packets for planting in backyards as part of the Plant Your Backyard Program.

Beyond a simple day of services, “FEDA in your Community” functions as an articulating mechanism where guidance on social protection programs, training, and direct support for agricultural entrepreneurship are offered, but above all as a clear message of the Government’s attention to rural communities to strengthen the sense of belonging.
This dynamic allows the demands raised in the communities to be efficiently channeled to the competent government institutions.
