Santiago de los Caballeros. – More than 2,000 students from polytechnics and educational centers participated this Thursday in the activities of the fifth Industrial Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair (FIEI), organized by the Industrial Development and Competitiveness Center (Proindustria), where national and international experts addressed key issues for the development of industry, innovation and entrepreneurship in the Dominican Republic.
Within the framework of the day, the general director of Proindustria, Rafael Cruz Rodríguez, held various meetings, including meetings with entrepreneurs interested in making investments through the institution. Likewise, he toured the different stands, where he interacted with young participants and learned firsthand about the innovation projects presented.
The program included five training spaces as part of a cycle of activities focused on innovation, sustainability, digital transformation, and entrepreneurship.
The agenda included the presentation “Presentation on the History of Japan’s Industrialization”, given by Kota Sakaguchi, resident representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), as well as the conference “Innovation and Industrial Entrepreneurship: Opportunities for the New Dominican Productive Generation”, presented by Martha Asensi, representing the Vice Minister of Industrial Development of the MICM, Gianna Franjul.

In the field of sustainability, Carlos Daniel Taveras addressed the “Importance of Sustainability and Circular Economy in the Manufacturing Industry,” while Nilo de la Rosa was in charge of the conference “Protection of privacy and personal data in the age of the digital economy and artificial intelligence.”
Also, Ana Cecilia Álvarez gave the workshop “Learning to Undertake”, aimed at motivating young people in the development of productive initiatives and innovative projects.
In parallel, the robotics competition was developed, where students put their knowledge of science, technology, and engineering into practice, demonstrating their creativity and technical skills.

As part of the agenda, the cultural exchange between Japan and the Dominican Republic, the guest country of this edition, was also held, strengthening the ties of cooperation between both nations.
Likewise, a business round (B2B) was held, which brought together entrepreneurs and investors in a connection space to generate business opportunities and strategic alliances.
The Industrial Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair continues to develop with an agenda aimed at strengthening the productive ecosystem, promoting the transfer of knowledge, and bringing the new generations closer to the opportunities of the Dominican industrial sector.
