Women star in commerce

Salvadoran women entrepreneurs through the coordination of economic initiatives. During the meeting, the Mexican representation reaffirmed its willingness to develop training activities, networking spaces, and possible cooperation projects to consolidate businesses led by women.

The
Mexican investment in
El Salvador reached a historic level of USD3,577.5 million between January and September 2025, according to data published by the Milenio newspaper. During the 2021-2024 period,
El Salvador captured more than USD12,000 million from
Mexico, according to the
Central Reserve Bank (BCR). About 35% was channeled to the manufacturing sector, followed by commerce (19%), financial services (15%) and transportation (10%).
The growth in investment, which exceeded the figures for the same period in 2024 by 2.7% and the records of seven years ago by 41.7%, is linked to the improvement of security in the country, the existence of clearer rules for investments and a favorable regulatory environment to attract capital, according to
Milenio. The media points out that these factors generated interest in Mexican companies with expansion capacity.
Mexico is thus consolidating as one of the most relevant investment partners for
El Salvador.
