Santo Domingo.– Rosiris Jaque Román is requesting the support of caring individuals and institutions that can help her rebuild her life, after a fire that occurred on March 4th destroyed her home and those of two of her children, leaving the family in a situation of extreme vulnerability.

According to his account, the incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. and first consumed his house, then spread to the homes of his son and daughter. So far, the family does not know the causes that started the fire.

After the tragedy, the family members had to separate to find a place to stay. One of their daughters currently lives in a borrowed home, while another of their children occupies a small rented room. Rosiris, for her part, has also had to seek temporary shelter in another residence.

The woman explained that she works as a janitor at a school, but she claims that her income is not enough to face the situation she is going through or to cover the basic needs of her household.

In addition to the economic difficulties, there is the delicate health condition of one of their children, who suffered an accident five years ago and has faced various medical complications ever since. Currently, he suffers from hydrocephalus and requires surgery, as well as constant treatments and medications.

“What I earn is not enough. It barely covers anything and I can’t even afford the medication he needs,” she expressed with concern.

Rosiris made a call to the public and to institutions that can collaborate to help her recover part of what was lost and provide better living conditions for her family, especially for her sick son.
