Santo Domingo.- The National Council of the Magistracy (CNM), led by President Luis Abinader, held a session this Monday during which it approved the schedule that will govern the next stages of the performance evaluation process for the judges of the Supreme Court of Justice, whose constitutional term ended on April 3 of this year.
The approval of the schedule is intended to organize the stages of the process in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic and Law No. 138-11, Organic Law of the National Council of the Magistracy, guaranteeing due process and compliance with the corresponding deadlines.
The work session was attended by the other members of the National Council of the Magistracy: the President of the Senate, Ricardo de los Santos; the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Alfredo Pacheco, who connected virtually; Senator Omar Fernández; Deputy Tobías Crespo; the President of the Supreme Court of Justice, Luis Henry Molina; the Supreme Court of Justice judge and CNM secretary, Nancy Salcedo; and the President of the Constitutional Court, Napoleón Estévez.
All members were present, thus respecting the legal quorum required for this first session.

With the approval of this schedule, the CNM begins the organization of the tasks that will lead to the evaluation process of the judges of the Supreme Court of Justice, in compliance with the constitutional mandates and the principles established by the law itself.
At the end of the session, Magistrate Nancy Salcedo, secretary of the CNM, and the Minister of Justice, Antoliano Peralta Romero, offered brief statements in which they announced the start of the provisional work schedule from August 7 to October 23, 2026, including a second phase of applications open to the public, once possible vacancies have been determined.
They clarified that the schedule may undergo modifications as the work progresses. They also reported on the National Council of the Magistracy’s decision that performance evaluation interviews be conducted publicly, as established in Article 4 of the CNM Regulation 2-25.

They also communicated the personal decision of the presiding magistrate of the Supreme Court of Justice, Luis Henry Molina, as well as that of Magistrate Salcedo herself, not to opt for a next term as judges of the Supreme Court of Justice.
