Spain.- The National Police strengthened international academic cooperation and presented the progress of its institutional reform process during its participation in the X Board of Directors of the Ibero-American Police School (IBERPOL), held in Ávila, Spain.
The Dominican delegation was headed by the rector of the Instituto Policial de Educación Superior (IPES), General Juan Hilario Guzmán Badía, accompanied by Second Lieutenant Miguel Enrique Segura Lugo, head of the Department of Relations and Interinstitutional Cooperation of the IPES.
During his intervention, General Guzmán Badía presented the progress made by the institution in terms of educational transformation, highlighting the implementation of new academic programs and virtual teaching modalities to strengthen the training and professionalization of police personnel.
The meeting brought together representatives from 24 police forces from 18 Latin American and European countries, who exchanged experiences and analyzed strategies to strengthen police training in areas such as criminal investigation, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, forensics, drug trafficking, and money laundering.
Likewise, the delegations agreed on the need to modernize teaching systems through technological tools and specialized programs that allow for more flexible training adapted to the current challenges of public safety.
The participation of the Dominican National Police was positively valued by the member countries, highlighting the progress made in the process of educational reform and modernization that the institution is developing.
General Guzmán Badía reiterated the commitment of the General Directorate of the National Police, headed by Major General Andrés Modesto Cruz Cruz, to continue strengthening international cooperation ties and promoting innovative academic initiatives for the benefit of citizen security.
