La Vega, R.D. – Members of the National Police recovered 632 live chickens and 52 cages, following an intervention carried out in the Jumunucú sector of this city, where five people were arrested for the alleged theft of the animals from a poultry farm.
The police action occurred after the owner of the farm reported it.
During the intervention, a white Hyundai Porter truck, in which the animals were being transported, was seized, and the driver, Orlando Antonio Rodríguez Cepeda, was arrested, along with four Haitian nationals identified as Fraklin Joseph, Denny Pie, Feliz Yan, and Genem Luiz, the latter without identification documents.
In addition, inside the vehicle, RD$13,850 pesos in cash, a knife-type weapon, and several work tools were seized.
The detainees were transferred to the police station for the corresponding legal purposes, while investigations continue into the case.
