Santo Domingo. – The Directorate of the Dr. Ney Arias Lora University Teaching Traumatology Hospital reported this Monday that the patient who was seriously injured by several gunshot wounds in the Prosecutor’s Office of Santo Domingo East was discharged.
The director of the health center, doctor Julio Landrón, indicated that the patient whose identity is kept strictly confidential for security reasons, was taken to the trauma center with multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen, lower back, and both upper limbs.
Landrón explained that, upon arriving at the emergency room, the young man was immediately taken to surgery, where he received a complex and timely intervention.
“The patient underwent the necessary transfusions, the relevant corrections, and an exploratory laparotomy, during which several lesions were identified in abdominal organs, all successfully repaired,” detailed Landrón.
The specialist highlighted that despite the severity of the injuries, the patient’s evolution was described as stable and progressive.

The director pointed out that the young man is currently conscious, oriented, with stable vital signs and eating normally, which allowed his discharge after the evaluation of the medical board composed of general surgeons, urologists, orthopedists, intensivists and the center’s management.
Doctor Landrón also highlighted that the safety of patients at Ney Arias Lora is fully guaranteed.
“Any patient who arrives at our center does not run any type of risk. We have more than 80 military and non-military members, in addition to the immediate support of the National Police, who responds in a timely manner to any eventuality,” concluded Landrón.
