Caracas.- Deputy Nicolás Maduro Guerra described as “unfair” this Wednesday the judicial process being followed in the United States against his father, the deposed president of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro, and against his wife, Cilia Flores, following the capture of both in Caracas on January 3rd by U.S. troops.
“In the face of the unjust trial taking place today, the popular power raised its voice in a single slogan: We demand the prompt release of President Nicolás Maduro and the first combatant!”, stated the deputy on his Instagram account.
Maduro Guerra attended a square in Caracas where Chavismo militants gathered to support the deposed president, who faces charges of conspiracy to commit narco-terrorism and cocaine importation, while Flores is accused of crimes related to drug importation and weapons possession.

The federal judge in charge of the case against Maduro and his wife proposed this Wednesday that the trial begin on June 1, 2027, once the immunity petition that the defense plans to file has been resolved.
