Santo Domingo.– The Ministry of Justice and the Government Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OGTIC) signed a cooperation agreement to promote the digital transformation of the newly created institution, through the automation of its services and the streamlining of legal procedures carried out by citizens.

The initiative seeks to reduce bureaucracy in key processes of the Ministry of Justice through the incorporation of Digital Government tools.

As part of this process, the Ministry’s services will be gradually integrated into the *462 platform and the Punto GOB centers, in addition to digitizing processes such as the certification of notarial and official documents, as well as the management, registration, and administration of Non-Profit Associations (ASFL).

To make this possible, OGTIC will provide the technological infrastructure that will allow connecting the Ministry of Justice with other State institutions through interoperability systems.

This integration will facilitate access to existing government records, preventing citizens from having to submit documents that are already held by other public entities.

The agreement also contemplates the implementation of the Digital Signature for the legal validation of electronic documents and the storage of information in the government cloud.

Regarding security, OGTIC will provide technical advice for the design of the Ministry of Justice’s cybersecurity strategy and will support compliance with the Information and Communication Technology Standards (NORTIC).

Likewise, the agreement establishes that the technological transition of the files and records of notaries and Non-Profit Associations (ASFL) will be carried out in a staggered manner, guaranteeing the continuity of services during the modernization process.

The framework agreement was signed in an act led by the Minister of Justice, Antoliano Peralta Romero, and the General Director of OGTIC, Edgar Batista Carrasco. The ceremony took place at the OGTIC headquarters.
