Santo Domingo, DR.– Judge Leomar Cruz Quezada ordered one month of house arrest and imposed a travel ban on Nancy Estervina de Jesús, who is accused of the alleged kidnapping of her husband, in a case that, according to authorities, is linked to a conflict over the control of a construction company.
The decision was adopted during the hearing for the imposition of a coercive measure. In the process, the Public Prosecutor’s Office requested that an economic guarantee be imposed, while the plaintiff’s side insisted on the application of a stricter measure.
After hearing the arguments from both parties, the magistrate rejected the request to impose a financial bond and partially granted the plaintiffs’ petition, ordering that the defendant remain under house arrest for one month and be prohibited from leaving the national territory while the investigation continues.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s file, the events occurred in the midst of a divorce process between the couple. The accusation maintains that Nancy Estervina de Jesús allegedly coordinated the transfer of her husband to a psychiatric center after allegedly removing him by force from the company where he worked.
The defendant, for her part, has defended her actions by claiming that her husband has mental health problems and that admission to the specialized center was recommended by the engineer’s sister.

However, the prosecution’s version indicates that behind the case there is a dispute over the ownership of a construction company belonging to the couple, although the engineer’s identity has not been disclosed.
According to the investigation, in February of this year, the woman arrived at the company’s facilities, located in the Alma Rosa II sector, in Santo Domingo East, accompanied by three other people. The Public Prosecutor’s Office states that the group allegedly assaulted the engineer, sedated him, and subsequently transported him in a vehicle to a mental health center, events that gave rise to the judicial process.
