Woman accused of kidnapping and torturing a minor in Azua arrested after days on the run

The arrest warrant number 2026-AJ0007724, issued on February 3rd, was executed this Tuesday against the citizen, Winifer Brito (Luisa), who was reported for allegedly participating in the kidnapping and torture of a minor in the community of Ansonia, province of Azua. The arrest was carried out by members of the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM). The order was issued by Judge Dania Abreu, of the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of the Judicial District of Azua at the request of the District Attorney of the Province of Azua, Franklyn Vicente Vicente. Against Brito, also known as Luisa, there is a complaint from a minor and her family, who accused her of having tortured the minor in the company of her partner Faider José de León Matos. The victim told De Último Minuto that she was beaten, her hair was cut, and she was tortured for several hours until the community and the Police intervened and freed her. Because Faider received a periodic presentation and an economic guarantee of RD$50 thousand pesos, as a coercive measure, which was appealed, a measure that the community considers unfair.
