Santo Domingo.- In light of the evidence provided by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, a judge imposed one year of pretrial detention as a coercive measure against a man arrested on July 12 for killing his romantic partner in the municipality of Nagua, in the María Trinidad Sánchez province.
Javier Hernández Concepción killed Catherine Licelot Rosario Gutiérrez with a gunshot wound to the neck at her home, located on the main street of the Mata Bonita sector, in the Las Gordas municipal district, of the aforementioned municipality.
Rosario Gutiérrez died due to a firearm projectile wound in the right lateral region of the neck, with an exit wound in the left temporal region, indicates the request for a coercive measure presented by the Public Ministry.
After committing the crime, the accused appeared in the morning hours of the same day at the Nagua police station, where, after the facts were verified, his formal arrest was carried out.
Fiscal prosecutor Anallancy Sierra Montero was in charge of the investigation and litigation of the case, providing sufficient evidence during the hearing that compromises the criminal responsibility of the defendant.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office supported the request for pretrial detention with various testimonial, documentary, expert, material, and illustrative evidence that were evaluated by Judge Martha Mirella Indhira Javier Cedano, of the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of María Trinidad Sánchez, who imposed the coercive measure requested by the investigative body.
The defendant Hernández Concepción must serve the measure that deprives him of liberty at the Olegario Tenares Fortress in the municipality of Nagua.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office has granted this act the provisional legal qualification of homicide, an act provided for and sanctioned in articles 295 and 304 of the Dominican Penal Code, as well as the violation of articles 66 and 67 of Law 631-16 for the Control and Regulation of Weapons, Ammunition and Related Materials, to the detriment of Rosario Gutiérrez.
