Santo Domingo.- A few minutes before taking the stage, Dominican singer-songwriter Pavel Núñez assured that BipolarBand will be an experience full of contrasts, where the music will range from the most emotional ballads to merengue and salsa, in a show designed to connect with the audience through emotion and dance.
“I have always maintained the discourse that this is a show manufactured for people to dance and then cry, or cry and then dance,” the artist expressed when explaining the concept of the concert, which returns in a more ambitious version after having been nominated for Concert of the Year at the Soberano Awards.
Núñez explained that the show brings together audiences with different expectations: those who want to hear his most romantic songs and those who wish to enjoy a more festive repertoire. “There are divided teams. There are people who came to hear the more heartfelt repertoire, but others come with the expectation of dancing, of not staying in their seats,” he commented.
The performer highlighted that the musical journey includes the merengues his uncle popularized on El Show del Mediodía during the 80s and 90s, fused with his ballads and other rhythms. “It is a hybrid that people have really taken a liking to,” he stated.
Special guests include José Alberto “El Canario”, Maridalia Hernández, and his son Ariel Núñez, whom he defined as one of the greatest gifts of his life. “I gave myself the gift of having my son not only as a son, but as a colleague for Father’s Day,” he expressed with pride.

The evening will also feature the participation of Cuban singer-songwriters Julio Baró, Luis Barbería, and Said Carbonell, artists with whom he has shared different stages of his career and who will perform songs with special meaning alongside him.

Although he is mainly recognized for his ballads, Pavel confessed that the salsa segment represents one of the biggest challenges of the concert. “Everyone who knows me knows that I am a frustrated salsa singer. So this is the opportunity I have to perform songs that I have always wanted to sing,” he said with a laugh.

Regarding the moment he is experiencing in his career, the artist stated that he feels deeply grateful for the public’s support. “I feel privileged. I have found favor with an audience that has definitely taken me as a spokesperson through song, and I respond to that,” he stated.
In addition to the concert, Núñez announced that he will continue promoting his latest record production and announced a new tour with Ariel Núñez, with performances in Boston, Mexico, Guatemala, and Costa Rica, in an intimate two-guitar format. “It represents a gift from life. Not all parents have the joy of their child taking on the same passion as them,” he expressed.
Looking back and thinking about the Pavel of two decades ago, the singer-songwriter assured that he would not change the course of his history. “I would tell him not to change, to keep going, to stumble and get back up so that, as a result, we can be who we are,” he concluded.
