Santiago.-.The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Prosecution of Administrative Corruption (Pepca) warned this Friday that the Operation Onco14 investigation is far from over and announced that in the coming days there will be new arrests and raids related to the alleged network that reportedly diverted millions of pesos intended for cancer patients at the Cibao Regional Oncology Institute (IORC).
n” “nThe revelation was made by court prosecutor Mirna Ortiz, who stated that the Public Ministry continues to deepen investigations into the alleged illicit actions detected at the health center, considered one of the main benchmarks in oncological care in the Northern region.
n” “n“More arrests and raids will come because the investigation remains open”, declared Ortiz at the end of the hearing, hinting that new individuals could emerge in the case file.
n” “nThe judicial process was postponed until next Tuesday at 4:30 in the afternoon after defense attorneys claimed they were not prepared to hear the request presented by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Ortiz explained that the defense for Luisa Guzmán and the legal representation for Héctor Lora raised difficulties in assuming the hearing, while the latter’s lawyer did not appear in court.
