DINTEL raids and operations alongside the MP lead to six arrests and the seizure of more than 1,900 cigarettes

Simultaneous actions in Peravia and the National District allowed the dismantling of illicit points, the seizure of expired merchandise, and the detection of contraband. Santo Domingo- A total of five raids and several focused operations, executed by agents of the Regional Intelligence Sub-Directorate (DINTEL) of the National Policel, resulted in six people arrested, more than 1,900 units of seized cigarettes, narcotics, bladed weapons and illegal merchandise, during interventions carried out this Saturday, March 28, in the province of Peravia and the National District. The actions, developed in coordination with the Public Ministry and with the support of the Preventive Police, covered strategic sectors where illicit points operated, also achieving the seizure of electronic equipment, scales, smuggled beverages, expired food products, and a motorcycle without documentation.

Interventions in Peravia

In Baní, Peravia province, two raids were carried out. In the first operation, the authorities arrested one person and seized three boxes of pellets for air rifles and a cell phone. While, in the second raid, carried out in a grocery store, products from the basic food basket with expired expiration dates of up to two years were seized, smuggled alcoholic beverages, 25 units of cigarettes and a motorcycle without documents, evidencing alleged sanitary and commercial violations.

Operations in the National District

In the National District, DINTEL agents carried out three raids and at least seven focused operations in sectors such as Villa Consuelo, Villa Francisca, Cristo Rey, Ensanche Luperón, and Villa Juana. During these interventions, portions of alleged marijuana, cocaine, and crack were seized, as well as 10 bladed weapons, three scales, cell phones, electronic equipment (monitor, DVR, hard drive, and surveillance camera), and a total of 1,900 cigarettes of different brands.

Operating result

As a general result of these actions, the authorities reported six people detained, 25 portions of narcotic substances seized, 1,900 cigarettes seized, three scales, 10 bladed weapons, five cell phones, various electronic equipment —including a monitor, a DVR, a surveillance camera, and a hard drive—, as well as a motorcycle impounded. Everything seized is under the control of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes.
