Police arrest 18-year-old after alleged robbery in Tenares

Members of the National Police, under the supervision of the departmental commander of Salcedo, Colonel René E. Luna Kunhardt, in coordination with police officers from the municipality of La Vega, arrested Dariel Medina, 18 years old, residing in San Francisco de Macorís, after being caught in the act after, along with other individuals, allegedly committed a robbery in the municipality of Tenares. According to the preliminary report, after receiving the alert about the criminal act, the agents initiated a pursuit that allowed them to locate the suspects, who were traveling in a vehicle towards the province of La Vega. The arrest took place in the Villa Tapia sector, in La Vega, where three individuals were traveling in the aforementioned vehicle. Upon noticing the presence of the authorities, two of the suspects fled, while one of them was arrested by the acting agents. The detainee will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office to answer for the acts he is accused of, while the authorities continue the search and location efforts for the other two involved who managed to escape. During the operation, the agents recovered four cell phones, in addition to seizing cash, a controlled substance, a balaclava and a coat, among other objects.
