Santo Domingo, DR.– The National Police reported this Sunday that it seized a total of 105 slot machines that were operating illegally during a series of operations carried out in different sectors of Greater Santo Domingo, the National District, and the provinces of San Cristóbal and Monseñor Nouel.
According to the institution, the seized equipment includes 81 roulette-type machines and 24 digital machines, which were operating without complying with current legal provisions.
The actions were carried out by agents of the Central Intelligence Directorate (Dintel), as part of the ongoing operations conducted by the Police to combat clandestine gambling and other activities that affect public safety and order.
The institution explained that these operations are part of a strategy aimed at identifying and dismantling establishments where illicit activities are carried out, in addition to preventing crimes associated with this type of business.

With the seizure of this equipment, the authorities seek to reduce the operation of slot machines installed irregularly, especially in commercial establishments and spaces where they do not have the corresponding authorization.
The National Police reiterated that it will continue to intensify intelligence and intervention efforts throughout the national territory to detect and confiscate equipment used illegally, while urging business owners to comply with current regulations.
Likewise, he assured that the operations will be maintained permanently as part of the efforts to preserve citizen tranquility and strengthen crime prevention in the intervened communities.
