Santo Domingo. – The preliminary hearing of the case of driver Yojansel Ozuna, who was attacked with a machete and suffered the amputation of two fingers, was postponed until September 22nd.
The defendant’s lead attorney gave qualities and left without reason in that sense, a substitute arrived and the hearing was adjourned, which has generated discomfort in the accusing party, who consider that the process is being “played with time.” In that sense, they requested the judge to assign an attorney or judicial representative to guarantee the progress of the case.
Ozuna has reported that he has received threats and holds the family members of the officer of the
Dominican Navy, Máximo Morillo De Oleo, responsible for any situation that threatens his integrity or that of the members of the union that supports him.

The driver’s legal representatives insist that the event must be known in a trial on the merits, calling the aggression an attempted murder. Meanwhile, Kelvin Díaz, a member of the drivers’ union, urged the judges to apply a sentence of 10 years in prison against the accused.
“We neither give up nor get tired, we will be until the end. They cannot continue with this game of forwarding and forwarding,” expressed Díaz.
