President De la Espriella: “The time for the recovery of order, unity, and respect for the law has begun”

Cali.- After being sworn in as President of the Republic of Colombia, in an unprecedented ceremony held at the Santiago de Cali University Arena, Abelardo de la Espriella addressed the nation from the Pichincha Military Canton, a setting chosen by the new government for its historical value.

During his speech, which was watched by all his guests on giant screens and in the university arena, President De la Espriella stated that this place “Has an immense significance, that this presidential inauguration is being held at the Pichincha Military Canton. This place symbolizes the presence of a public force called to history.”

From Cali, a department that, according to the president, “has suffered the scourge of terrorism, drug trafficking, and the actions of violent groups,” De la Espriella sent a forceful message to the country.

“From Cali, I send a firm message to the Colombian people: the time for the recovery of order, unity, and respect for the law has begun.”
