Bonao, Monseñor Nouel.– In an atmosphere of prayer, worship, and unity, the municipality of Bonao celebrated the nineteenth edition of the “Bonao City of God” proclamation, a tradition that every July brings together Christian leaders, authorities, and citizens to reaffirm the values of faith, love, and peace that this initiative promotes.
The proclamation originates from Resolution No. 5-2008, issued by the Council of Aldermen in July 2008, through which Bonao was declared “City of God”. Since then, the city council annually ratifies this distinction in a ceremony led by the municipal mayor, Eberto Núñez, together with the council members.
On this occasion, Resolution No. 42-2026 was read by councilman Richard Ramírez, accompanied by council members Carlos Olivo, Juan Carlos Liriano, Confesora Marte, and Odalix González, who reiterated the Council of Councilors’ commitment to this spiritual tradition.
During the ceremony, Mayor Eberto Núñez and the council members presented the proclamation to Pastor Raffy Inoa and representatives of the El Buen Samaritano Christian Center, highlighting the importance of keeping this initiative alive, which strengthens coexistence, hope, and Christian values in the Monseñor Nouel province.

As part of the day’s events, the traditional altar of worship was once again raised, where hundreds of believers offered prayers for peace, unity, and the well-being of Bonao and the entire province.
The event was attended by the provincial governor, Adela Tejada; José Miguel Bautista (Melo); the director of the Juma-Bejucal municipal district, Teodoro Santos; as well as pastors, religious leaders, municipal authorities, and special guests.
With this nineteenth ratification, “Bonao City of God” consolidates itself as one of the most spiritually significant activities in the municipality, by promoting integration between churches, authorities, and the community around Christian values.
