Public Ministry requests 18 months of pre-trial detention for 10 defendants in the Cobra-SeNaSa case

Santo Domingo.–The Public Ministry filed on Monday the request for coercive measures against 10 people involved in the alleged corruption scheme dismantled through the “Operation Cobra”, which would have affected the National Health Insurance (SeNaSa) through fraudulent maneuvers and embezzlement of public funds. Among those charged is Heydi Mariela Pinela, transferred under custody to the Palace of Justice in Ciudad Nueva, where she remains detained along with other individuals involved. The prosecuting body requested 18 months of preventive imprisonment as a coercive measure and the declaration of the case as complex, citing crimes such as criminal association, bribery, forgery, fraud, and money laundering.
