Music producer Raphy Pina and Mireddys González Castellanos, ex-wife of urban artist Daddy Yankee, will request before the court the dismissal of the federal lawsuit filed by the singer and his company Los Cangris, Inc., alleging that the recourse does not meet the requirements established by the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). The information was confirmed by Pina’s lawyer, José Alfredo Hernández Mayoral, during an interview on the program Día a Día. The lawyer explained that the complaint filed by the artist does not adequately establish the existence of an “enterprise” or enterprise, an essential element for a claim to succeed under federal RICO legislation. According to Hernández Mayoral, the lawsuit lacks the structural components required for this type of legal action, particularly regarding the clear identification of an organization with illicit purposes and a pattern of continuous criminal activity.
