From the early hours of this Sunday, Raquel Peña, Vice President of the Republic, toured the Expo Cibao 2025 in support of the small, medium, and large entrepreneurs who are exhibiting their products, innovations, and offers at the Parque Central in Santiago.
Peña, who reaffirms his commitment to the commercial ecosystem of the North region every year, stated that the event is a commitment to the economic and productive development of the country, by bringing brands and their products closer to the population and generating new investment and employment opportunities.
“This is a space to showcase what we are in this entire region, not just in Santiago. To show everything we can offer: our brands, commerce, and our industry,” expressed Peña, while highlighting that the Government, headed by President Luis Abinader, will continue to support the Cibao so that it continues to grow and be a source of pride for the country and the world.
The Vice President recalled that no edition of the fair has been missed and that, although she could not participate in the opening due to prior institutional commitments, “there is no better way to enjoy the Cibao Expo than surrounded by the enthusiasm of the fairgoers and the joy of the visitors.”
During his tour of the different booths, Peña valued the organization and logistics of the event held by the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santiago, highlighting the quality of the products and the innovation of the participating companies.

For the tour, the vice president was accompanied by the provincial governor, Rosa Santos; the senator of Santiago, Daniel Rivera; Luis Campos Jorge, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santiago, among other local and business authorities.
Prior to his visit to the fairgrounds, Peña held a meeting with the organizing committee and personalities from the business sector, where strategic issues for the development of the province were addressed. Among them, the improvement of the public academic offer to strengthen technical training and accelerate the training of young people for the labor market.
During the dialogue, high-impact projects were also discussed, such as the construction of the Amber Highway, the updating of the Strategic Plan of Santiago, and the implementation of the Integrated Transportation System, the latter being considered a key pillar to improve mobility and reduce traffic congestion in the city.

The meeting was attended by Francisco González, Luis Campos, Fernando Puig, Nieves Sosa, Joel Tavárez, Massiel Hahn, José Luis Ventura, Rafael Emilio Yunén, Jorge Jana, Ramón Marcelino, Franklin Ramírez, Alejandro Fondeur, José Armando Bermúdez and the provincial authorities.
Expo Cibao 2025
The 38th version of Expo Cibao was held in the Central Park of Santiago from October 1st to 5th, with the participation of more than 160 companies distributed in more than 300 modules. This edition reaffirms Santiago as the economic capital of the country and a key platform for innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable growth of the region.
