The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM) reported that the Dominican Government allocated another RD$1,087.9 million in fuel subsidies to continue countering the increase in derivatives in the international market.
For this week, only regular gasoline and diesel will be adjusted, with an increase of RD$3.00; even with this adjustment, they remain below the prices established on June 13, when the 90-day freeze period was announced as part of the Anti-Crisis Plan. Meanwhile, LPG and natural gas remain with their prices frozen.
The refining margin (difference between the price of crude oil and the price of the finished product) has increased by 26% for gasoline and more than 64% for diesel since the US-Iran conflict.
The Government maintains its commitment not to exceed the established prices as long as oil remains below US$95, for the sustainability of the Anti-Crisis Plan implemented by the Government.
With the prices set for this week, the Government is subsidizing each gallon consumed by Dominicans with RD$15.78 for LPG, RD$9.97 for premium gasoline, RD$33.36 for regular gasoline, RD$86.89 for regular diesel, and RD$78.39 for optimum diesel. With the subsidy that the Government has allocated for this week, so far this year, the amount allocated exceeds RD$26 billion.
