Santo Domingo.– The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM) announced a new reduction in the prices of several fuels for the week of July 11 to 17, 2026, including regular gasoline, regular diesel, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
According to the institution, regular gasoline and regular diesel will decrease by RD$3.00 per gallon, while LPG will drop by RD$2.00. With this measure, both regular fuels accumulate a reduction of RD$8.00 per gallon over the last two weeks.
The MICM explained that these price reductions seek to alleviate the impact of fuel costs on households and sectors that depend on freight and passenger transport, especially among the lower-income population.
To maintain these reductions, the Government reported that it will allocate RD$523.7 million in subsidies this week, bringing the total amount invested in this concept so far in 2026 to RD$21,323 million.
The institution indicated that, despite the recent escalation of the conflict between the United States and Iran, which has caused increases in international oil and refined fuel prices, it was possible to apply these reductions without affecting the supply of the local market.
