Santo Domingo Oeste. – Residents of the El Progreso neighborhood, specifically on Puerto Rico Street, in Los Alcarrizos, reported that for years they have been living in abandonment due to the poor condition of their streets, which they claim do not receive maintenance or a definitive solution from the authorities.
The community members expressed that this situation directly affects the quality of life, transit, health, and safety of those who live in the area and state that, despite constant complaints, the streets remain impassable and without concrete responses from the mayor’s office or other competent institutions.

“We feel that we are only taken into account during election or fundraising times, but not when it comes to solving our most urgent needs,” the residents expressed through a message sent to the editorial staff of De Último Minuto.

Faced with this reality, they urgently requested the immediate intervention of the municipal authorities for the repair and conditioning of the roads, considering that it is a fair and essential need for the common well-being of the community.
