Santo Domingo. A leak reported this Tuesday afternoon in the roof of the Las Américas International Airport (AILA) caused inconvenience to dozens of passengers who were in one of the terminal’s areas, amidst the intense rains affecting Greater Santo Domingo.
Videos captured by people present at the scene show how a considerable amount of water was falling from the ceiling while numerous travelers remained in line, forced to wait in the midst of the situation.
According to witnesses, the leak continued for several minutes, which caused discomfort among users, who expressed concern about the conditions of the area and the lack of an immediate response to control the incident.

So far, the airport administration has not offered an official explanation regarding the origin of the leak, nor has it reported whether the problem was related to the heavy rainfall or some failure in the terminal’s infrastructure.
