Russia and China highlighted this Thursday the high level of military cooperation between the two countries, during a visit to Moscow by Zhang Youxia, vice-chairman of China’s main military body, the Central Military Commission.
“The Russian and Chinese defense ministries have begun to implement the agreements reached at the highest level, significantly expanding the number of exercises on land, sea, and air,” said Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov to the Chinese general. According to Belousov, the goal of these exercises is to “guarantee the security of both countries”. Also, the Russian minister expressed confidence that today the parties will mark “new horizons for cooperation in defense.” The Chinese military, for its part, reiterated Beijing’s commitment to the implementation of “important agreements” reached by the leaders of both countries and expressed confidence in the elevation of the level of Russian-Chinese relations. “We will broaden your horizons and strengthen your resilience,” he assured.
