Baní. – The Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (MINERD), through the Secondary Education Department of the Arts Modality, successfully held the cultural event The Art Route on Friday, February 20, 2026, in the Marcos A. Cabral Park, with the participation of more than 300 students from different provinces in the south of the country.
The activity brought together 320 participants, including students, teachers, technicians, and educational authorities, who presented expressions of music, dance, theater, visual arts, and artisanal production as part of the formative processes of the Bachelor’s Degree in Arts.
The exhibitions were carried out by educational centers belonging to Regional 03 of Azua and educational districts 03-01, 03-02, 03-03, 03-04, 03-05 and 04-06, strengthening the link between the school and the community through the use of public space as a cultural setting.
Participating Centers
The educational centers in arts Francisco del Rosario Sánchez (Azua), Eugenio María de Hostos (Padre Las Casas), Juan Pablo Duarte (San José de Ocoa), Canela Mota (Baní), Lucila Mojica (Nizao) and Manuel Félix Peña (Haina) participated, with various artistic manifestations.
The day was attended by the regional director 03, Jorge Antonio de los Santos; the regional curricular officer, Leda María Sánchez; the regional Secondary officer, Neury Montero; and the liaison technician for the Arts Modality, Scarlin Beltré.
Also in attendance were the provincial governor, Ángela Yadira Báez; Senator Julito Fulcar; as well as mayors, deputies, and community leaders from Peravia province.
The activity took place from 3:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon, with the logistical support of the MINERD, the School Police and units of the National Emergency Attention System 911, guaranteeing the safety and transportation of the students.
