Santo Domingo.– With the goal of strengthening the comprehensive care provided to older adults throughout the national territory, the business alliance Sanar una Nación made a significant donation to the National Council for the Aging (CONAPE), directly benefiting more than 2,000 older adults in vulnerable conditions.
This contribution included the delivery of 32,256 portions of high-nutritional-value food and 1,985 specialized medical treatments, which will contribute to strengthening the specific nutritional and medical needs of older adults, a population that requires priority attention and supportive accompaniment to improve their quality of life.
During the formal handover ceremony, the executive vice president and general manager of AFP Popular, Luis J. Jiménez, reiterated the business alliance’s commitment to the health and comprehensive well-being of older adults as an urgent social responsibility priority.

Upon receiving this delivery, the executive director of CONAPE, Dr. Demetrio Ureña, expressed his deep gratitude on behalf of the elderly population in the country. “This valuable contribution from Sanar una Nación comes at a crucial time to mitigate the impact of various health conditions that recurrently affect our seniors. Partnerships like this dignify the lives of our older adults, ensuring they receive essential medications and the necessary nutritional support in a timely and free manner,” the official stated.
These medications supplied to CONAPE, which represent a value exceeding US$1.02 million (equivalent to RD$60.49 million), will allow for the coverage and continuous monitoring of both acute and chronic diseases. Among the treatments delivered, essential drugs to combat conditions such as dengue, chikungunya, and Zika stand out, as well as analgesics and anti-inflammatories for pain and fever management.
Likewise, specialized therapies were provided to regulate cholesterol, vascular and pulmonary hypertension, acid reflux, gastrointestinal complications such as diarrhea and constipation, among other critical health conditions. These were part of the actions corresponding to the April-June 2026 period.
