Santo Domingo. – The Dominican Republic’s Meteorology Institute (INDOMET) forecast scattered showers due to a weak trough affecting the Dominican Republic. Indomet detailed that these precipitations have been affecting, and will continue to do so sporadically, coastal sectors of La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, Espaillat and Puerto Plata, which may last until noon. However, for the afternoon of this Tuesday, rainfall is expected to persist in areas of Samaná, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, San Pedro de Macorís, Monte Plata, Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal and Monseñor Nouel. In the rest of the provinces, any showers that occur will be isolated and infrequent. During the night, these precipitations are forecast to continue affecting mainly the coastal provinces of the Atlantic.

“We are in autumn, a season that in tropical areas is characterized by a gradual decrease in temperatures, becoming cooler or more pleasant, especially during the night and in the early morning hours. This variation responds to several factors, including the presence of clear nights, the occasional passage of cold fronts, the influence of anticyclonic systems and, more notably, the conditions of the mountain systems and their valleys, where fogs or mists may occur,” says the Indomet report. In that sense, for tomorrow, Wednesday, scattered clouds and a mostly sunny sky will prevail over a large part of the country, due to the limited available humidity and the dominance of the anticyclone. However, the east wind and orographic effects will be the only factors capable of generating isolated showers during the early morning and morning hours in sectors of Samaná, Hato Mayor, María Trinidad Sánchez, Espaillat, Duarte, Sánchez Ramírez and nearby areas. In the afternoon and night, scattered cloudiness will remain at times, without significant rainfall. National District: few clouds. Santo Domingo Norte: scattered clouds. Santo Domingo Este: isolated clouds. Santo Domingo Oeste: few clouds. Temperatures: the minimum will be between 21 °C and 23 °C and the maximum between 30 °C and 32 °C. Summary: Anticyclonic circulation limiting humidity over the country… Only scattered showers, in morning and evening hours, due to wind drag from the northeast and a weak trough… Cool and pleasant temperatures continue in the mornings and nights. See marine report for coastal information.https://indomet.gob.do/pronostico/informes-marino/informe-marino-3 Next Thursday, the high-pressure system will continue to notably reduce rainfall accumulation in our territory. Only isolated and short-lived showers are expected from morning hours, especially towards the northeast region, the eastern plain, and the Central Mountain Range, associated with daytime heating and moisture transport from the east wind. During the afternoon and night, conditions of a sky with scattered clouds and scarce rainfall will persist.
