San Cristobal – The Collegiate Court of this jurisdiction imposed a sentence of 40 years in prison on Danelvis Rivas Rodriguez, found guilty of the murder of Yan Carlos Serrano Toledo and his accomplice, Niky Esmerlin Morban de la Cruz, during a robbery perpetrated in February 2023 in the Madre Vieja Sur sector.
The sentence was handed down after the accusation presented by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, represented by prosecutors Wendy María Martínez Garabitos and Ángel Félix Recio, who irrefutably demonstrated the defendant’s participation in the events, was fully accepted.

During the robbery, which occurred on the afternoon of February 20, 2023, Rivas and his accomplice entered the establishment armed, threatening and assaulting those present. In the midst of the action, a shot accidentally went off from Rivas’s weapon, hitting Morban de la Cruz in the head and causing his instant death.
Subsequently, and deliberately, Rivas Rodríguez fired multiple shots at Yan Carlos Serrano Toledo, who also died at the scene. Everything was captured on the local security cameras.After the crime, the accused tried to drag his accomplice’s body towards the motorcycle used to get to the scene, but finally left it abandoned. Subsequently, he fled with the motorcycle driver to the vicinity of the Zona Verde sector, where they boarded a KIA K5 vehicle driven by Pichardo Moreta, with which they escaped.
