Azua.– A court in the province of Azua imposed three months of pretrial detention as a coercive measure against a man identified by the Public Ministry as the alleged person responsible for the death of another during a robbery that occurred in the municipality of Las Charcas.
The measure was imposed on Alexander Féliz Reyes (Tití), who faces charges for the death of Josué Gaspar Collado Moreno, whose body was found inside his home several days after the incident.
According to the preliminary investigation, the accused allegedly entered the victim’s residence, where he purportedly attacked her with a bladed weapon, causing fatal wounds. Authorities maintain that, after the crime, he stole several belongings from the property before leaving the scene.
The case came to light on the afternoon of July 22, when members of the Azua Prosecutor’s Office and agents of the Central Investigation Directorate (Dicrim) arrived at a home in the Las Charcas municipality after receiving a report of the discovery of a decomposing corpse.

During the hearing, the Public Prosecutor’s Office presented the evidence gathered so far and requested the imposition of pretrial detention, a request that was accepted by the court as it considered that there are procedural risks while investigations continue.
The defendant must serve the precautionary measure in a penitentiary center of the prison system, while the Public Prosecutor’s Office advances with the judicial process and strengthens the accusatory file.
