Shooting between neighbors leaves four wounded by gunfire in West Santiago

Santiago Oeste.- A shootout between neighbors left four people injured, including a minor and a woman who suffered a neck injury allegedly caused by a broken bottle, in an incident that occurred in the El Fondo de la Botella sector, in the Santiago Oeste municipal district.

Among those wounded by gunfire, a minor known as Wander and a young man identified only as Ányelo were preliminarily identified.

The names of the other two people, a man and a woman, had not been established at the time of writing this report.

Relatives of the injured identified “Brayita” and “Lagrimita” as being involved in the conflict that ended with the four people injured.

According to preliminary reports, the incident allegedly originated from a jealousy-related conflict that escalated into a confrontation involving gunfire and attacks with sharp objects.

The two men and the minor sustained gunshot wounds, mainly to their feet, while the woman suffered an injury to her neck.

The affected individuals were transported to different health centers, including the Rafael Castro Hospital in West Santiago, and others were referred to the José María Cabral y Báez Regional University Hospital and the Doctor Arturo Grullón Pediatric Hospital in Santiago.

The shooting generated moments of tension and concern among residents of the area, who were surprised by the violence recorded in the midst of the confrontation.

National Police agents are investigating the case to determine the exact circumstances in which the event occurred, identify all those involved, and establish the corresponding responsibilities.
