Santo Domingo.– The National Health Service (SNS) will begin the first stage of intervention at the Salvador B. Gautier Hospital next week, as part of the comprehensive renovation process being carried out by President Luis Abinader’s government to strengthen the infrastructure and response capacity of this iconic health center.
The executive director of the SNS, Dr. Julio César Landrón, reported that, once the mobilization plan for the Emergency area has been agreed upon and the relocation of the services currently operating in that space has been completed, the work corresponding to this first phase will begin, guaranteeing the continuity of care for users.
The intervention includes the expansion of the Emergency area, as well as the renovation of consultation, hospitalization, inpatient, and surgery areas, works that will be executed in stages to avoid the interruption of healthcare services.

Landrón reiterated that the Salvador B. Gautier Hospital is a national reference center and one of the main settings for the training of medical specialists in the country, which is why its modernization represents a priority for the strengthening of the Public Health Services Network.
Likewise, he announced that the center will be equipped with a modern magnetic resonance imaging scanner and an angiotomography unit for the Hemodynamics room, technology that will strengthen diagnostic capacity and allow for more timely and higher-quality care to be offered to patients.
With these actions, the SNS reaffirms its commitment to continue transforming the national hospital network through the improvement of infrastructure, equipment, and care conditions for the benefit of the entire population.
