France. – During the successful bilateral meeting in which President Luis Abinader and his counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, announced that the French government will support the construction of the Santo Domingo monorail and the comprehensive transportation plan for Greater Santo Domingo.
Within the framework of this dialogue, it was reported that the works for the construction of the Santo Domingo Monorail would begin next week and will be financed through the Treasury and the French Development Agency on preferential terms. The aforementioned work, whose adjudication concludes this Wednesday 25th, will extend for 12 kilometers and will connect the National District and Santo Domingo East in a few minutes. After being received with the corresponding honors, President Luis Abinader went, along with Emmanuel Macron, to the interior of the palace, where they also discussed the issue of the pacification and democratization of Haiti. Likewise, they touched on the issue of the war in Iran and expressed their concern about the situation in that region.The development of these bilateral meetings consolidates trust in the Dominican Republic as a reliable partner and allows for the strengthening of ties and the fostering of dialogue, international cooperation, and solidarity, reaffirming the commitment to an active and constructive diplomacy that, together, allows us to face global challenges and achieve common goals.
