Suspect in death of ex-police officer had been linked to robbery in Pedernales
Neyba. – The main suspect in the death of former police agent Jamison Pérez Román had previous confrontations with the justice system for a robbery case that occurred in Pedernales province in the year 2024.
This is Elvin Feliz, known as “Alvin”, who, according to information provided by the Southern Regional Investigations Sub-Directorate (Dicrim), based in Barahona, was actively sought for the theft of a motorcycle.
According to the police report, Alvin allegedly stole the vehicle owned by Melvin Antonio González Sánchez, an event that occurred in the parking lot of the Isla station, in Pedernales. For this case, arrest warrant number 592 was issued against him, following the robbery perpetrated in the early hours of October 1, 2024, although it is unknown if he was brought to justice.
The authorities indicated that, during that investigative process, the suspect was considered a heavily armed person, and it is presumed that he had used a firearm to take the life of the former member of the National Police, allegedly for a debt of 200 thousand pesos. Elvin Feliz is listed as the third person involved in the homicide of Jamison Pérez Román, which occurred on Sunday afternoon in the Las Malvinas neighborhood, in Neyba. Also involved in the case are Francisco Cuevas Santana, alias Chuki, and Joaquín Emilio Labour Santana.
The Police reported that Chuki was arrested in a cabin in the municipality of Jimaní, while Labour Santana voluntarily appeared before the police detachment of this jurisdiction.
Investigations are ongoing to fully clarify the event and establish responsibilities.
