Madrid.– The Ibex 35 registered a downward close this Friday, pressured by the increase in geopolitical tensions between the United States and Iran and the rise in the price of Brent oil, which again stood above 100 dollars per barrel. The main index of the Spanish Stock Exchange fell by around 0.9%, on a day marked by volatility in international markets due to fears of a possible escalation of the conflict in the Middle East and its impact on global energy supply. The rise in crude oil prices has generated concern among investors, due to its direct effect on production costs and inflation, which has led to mixed movements in European markets, where some energy stocks managed to withstand the losses.

Despite the daily setback, the Spanish stock index maintains accumulated gains for the week, driven in previous sessions by expectations of possible diplomatic agreements that ease tensions in the region. Analysts point out that the evolution of the Ibex 35 will continue to depend on geopolitical developments and the behavior of the oil market, factors that continue to mark the trend of the main stock market indices globally.
