They execute Operativo 2.0 “Peace Guarantee” in Sánchez Ramírez, with 21 businesses intervened

Sánchez Ramírez. — The National Police and the Public Ministry obtained 21 businesses intervened, a seized pistol and five motorcycles retained, in addition to 32 vehicles and 36 people vetted, during the most recent day of Operation 2.0 “Guarantee of Peace” executed in the province of Sánchez Ramírez. The actions were carried out in the municipalities of Cotuí, La Bija, La Mata and Fantino, under the direction of Governor Cristiana de Alba, the regional director Cibao Sur, General Jesús R. Tejada Tejada, the regional sub-director and coordinator Cristian Ortiz, from the Ministry of Interior and Police (COBA), along with representatives from the Public Ministry and units of the DNCD, DICRIM, DINTEL and the Preventive Police. In terms of establishment control, the authorities intervened in 6 pool halls and 15 businesses selling alcoholic beverages. In Cotuí, 7 establishments were closed and 6 were notified; in La Bija, 4 businesses were closed; in La Mata, 2 were closed; and in Fantino, 3 were closed.

During an inspection at the El Hoyito amusement center, in La Recta de Los Corozos (Cotui), agents seized a Taurus 9 mm pistol, with a magazine and 15 cartridges, which was carried without documents by Francisco Antonio Amparo, 64 years old. The weapon’s screening revealed that it is not registered to date. In the One Place Disco entertainment center, in Villa La Mata, agents seized five motorcycles without documentation, of different brands and colors, as part of vehicle control actions. 32 vehicles and 36 people were also screened, in prevention of criminal acts. Authorities reported that these operations will continue to be carried out in all sectors of the province of Sánchez Ramírez, as part of the strengthening of citizen security in the region.
