Santo Domingo.- A court sentenced two people to 30 and 15 years in prison for their involvement in the murder of a man that occurred in the municipality of San Fernando, Montecristi province, in 2024.
The sentence establishes a 30-year prison term against Félix Junior Cabrera López and 15 years for Jennifer María Cruz Montolío. Both were convicted for the murder of Alexis Antonio Liberato Pimentel.
After demonstrating their connection to the case with overwhelming evidence, the Public Prosecutor’s Office requested the imposition of the maximum sentence of 30 years in prison for both defendants.
During the trial, the Public Prosecutor’s Office presented a robust body of evidence, composed of testimonial, documentary, expert, material, and audiovisual evidence, through which it managed to demonstrate, beyond any reasonable doubt, the participation of those now convicted in the crime that occurred on November 16, 2024.
Among the evidence presented are crime scene surveys, forensic analyses, surveillance camera videos, GPS tracking of the vehicle used, extraction of information from electronic devices, and various investigative procedures that allowed for the reconstruction of how the act was perpetrated and the subsequent escape of those responsible.

The accusatory file indicates that on the night of November 16, 2024, the defendants traveled to the vicinity of a nightclub, located on Pedro Pablo Fernández street, in the municipality of San Fernando, where they fired several shots at Alexis Antonio Liberato Pimentel, causing him wounds that resulted in his death ipso facto.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office supported the accusation based on the violation of articles 295, 296, 297, 298, and 302 of the Dominican Penal Code, which define and punish murder, as well as articles 66 and 67 of Law No. 631-16 for the Control and Regulation of Weapons, Ammunition, and Related Materials.
The investigations were led by the public prosecutor Yelissa Cabrera Caba, who coordinated the investigative proceedings that allowed for the gathering of the evidence presented during the process.

Meanwhile, the Public Ministry’s representation in the trial was led by prosecutors Francis Peña Sabés and Yohanny Altagracia Herrera, who upheld the accusation and succeeded in having the court fully accept the evidence provided by the prosecuting body.
The sentence was handed down by the Collegiate Court of the Judicial District of Montecristi, composed of judges Mercedes Reyes, Ariela de los Santos, and Ana V. Rodríguez.
Cabrera López will serve the sentence at the Dajabón Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR), while Cruz Montolío was sent to the Rafey Women’s Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR) in Santiago.
