Santiago.- A 22-year-old man who worked as a delivery driver for a fast-food establishment died after being stabbed during a brawl allegedly involving three brothers, on Saturday night, in the Hato Mayor sector, north of Santiago.
The victim was identified as 22-year-old Joel Rivera Heredia, known as “King,” who worked as a delivery driver for the business Carlos Gourmet and had just completed his last order of the day when the attack occurred, around 10:20 p.m., as the establishment was preparing to close.
According to the business owner, Carlos Manuel Genere, the three alleged attackers, known to the community and even to employees of the establishment, arrived at the scene and began beating the young man without apparent justification.
Genere explained that he intervened on several occasions to separate those involved and prevent the situation from escalating. According to his account, the attackers claimed that the victim had made a comment while one of them was kissing a woman, a situation the merchant tried to calm.
However, he stated that the three brothers returned to the establishment and resumed the aggression.
In the midst of the struggle, one of them allegedly pulled out a bladed weapon and inflicted a fatal wound on the delivery man’s neck.

“The only thing we want is for whoever caused the harm to pay. That they do not flee and turn themselves in so they can face justice,” he/she expressed.
For his part, Jordan Rivera Heredia, the victim’s brother, stated that the camera footage shows that Joel never attempted to attack his assailants.
“My brother is clearly seen backing away. He never tried to defend himself or attack anyone. It was three against one,” he stated, while requesting that the National Police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office arrest those responsible.
Those pointed out by relatives as the alleged perpetrators of the crime were identified as Carlitos, Aneudy, and Euedy, who are being actively sought by the authorities.
The homicide has caused dismay among residents of the Hato Mayor sector, who described the victim as a hardworking young man.
The body was transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) in Santiago, where the corresponding autopsy will be performed.
So far, the authorities have not reported any arrests related to the case, while efforts continue to locate the three brothers identified as the alleged perpetrators of the crime.
